At the heart of the park, the visitor centre is the starting point for the Rookie, Blue Scar, Penhydd and Y Wal mountain biking trails, the Rheilffordd cycleway (Sustran Route 887) and 3 of the waymarked walks.

Bike hire and repairs are available from the Afan Valley Bike Shed and Headstock Cafe is open daily for refreshments. The Visitor Centre is also home to South Wales Miners’ Museum and a new accessible children’s adventure play area.

There are public toilets, showers, bike wash and car parking available onsite (charges apply).
