Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre
Please note that the café at Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre is currently closed whilst Neath Port Talbot Council source a new operator for this service. Access through the visitor centre to South Wales Miners’ Museum will remain in place in line with the museum’s opening hours.
At the heart of the park, the visitor centre is the starting point for the Rookie, Blue Scar, Penhydd and Y Wal mountain biking trails, the Rheilffordd cycleway (Sustran Route 887) and 3 of the waymarked walks.
Bike hire and repairs are available from the Afan Valley Bike Shed and
Cedars Tearoom is open daily for refreshments. The Visitor Centre is also home to South Wales Miners’ Museum and a new accessible children’s adventure play area.
There are public toilets, showers, bike wash and car parking available onsite (charges apply).
Car Parking Charges:
- £1 up to 1 hour
- £2.50 up to 4 hours
- £3.50 per calendar day
- £52 annual season ticket, can be purchased online.
Please note refurbishment works are currently underway to the shower facilities at Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre Car Park. Work is also underway to enhance the car park and create additional capacity. There will be a temporary reduction in available parking spaces on site in order to facilitate these works.
