Neath Town Centre

Location:

Neath

Neath is a historical market town and the central point for the five surrounding valleys. When you arrive, your first sight will be of St David’s Church clock tower. The church, a major landmark in our town was the place where worldwide star Katherine Jenkins mastered her voice as a choir girl.

Situated next to the church are the elegant Victoria Gardens, an area that combines a 19th Century bandstand with a circle of standing stones which were erected for the National Eisteddfod in 1918.

The town offers a range of shops, cafes and public houses, as well as access to the Neath Canal which runs through the market town.

A visit to Neath cannot be complete without experiencing our indoor market, selling fresh produce and traditional goods. It’s also the perfect place to grab a warm Welsh lamb baguette.

If you are visiting on a Saturday, then you might be lucky enough to get the chance to watch the Welsh All Blacks. Neath RFC was formed in 1871 and is the oldest rugby club in Wales.
