Enjoy a Spooky Half Term in Neath Port Talbot
The scariest time of year is creeping upon us and what would Halloween be without a scary movie or ghost stories around a campfire? The Dramatic Heart of Wales is crawling with Halloween fun for all ages. If you’re looking for some ghostly things to do this season, look at our list below for the top 5 spookiest activities in the Dramatic Heart this Halloween.
1. Watch a scary movie in spooky surroundings at Margam Park Drive Through Cinema.
Brought to you by Gower Dough Cinema, this Spooktacular drive in movie event takes place from the 27th to the 30th of October 2021 and covers Halloween favourites such as Goosebumps and Beetlejuice. Get comfy, bring snacks and relax whilst watching all your Halloween favourites, all from the comfort of your car. You can book your tickets now at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/gowerdoughpresentsmargampark
2. Get on your bike for an eerie ride through Afan Forest Park
Folklore in the Afan Valley tells of many spooky tales in the forests and surrounding villages. Local miners used to report scary happenings underground and some even refused to work down the mines again, reports of apparitions included white ladies, dogs and children. These days you are more likely to be greeted by the sights and sounds of visitors enjoying this dramatic landscape than any spooky goings on, so bring your bike and start your cycle ride along the Rheilfordd Trail at Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre. Don’t forget to stop off for a warm drink and ‘bite’ to eat at Cedars Tearoom, just what you need to shake of those autumn ‘chills’.
3. Enjoy a family friendly outing at The Addams Family Musical – Neath Little Theatre
Switch the screens for stage this Halloween and book your place to watch this classic Halloween favourite performed live on stage at The Stage Y Llwyfan, from 27th to 30th of October. Book your tickets here. A fun, comedic musical for all ages.
4. Experience Halloween in the wild around a Campfire in Aberdulais
Go foraging in the woods, look for funghi under UV light and enjoy wild food around the glow of a campfire. Celebrate Halloween in a slightly different way, whilst getting close to nature. Fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/halloween-campfire-with-wild-foraged-food-and-mush-tickets-188877115537
