Summer has finally arrived, and we can’t wait for all the exciting events coming up in the Dramatic Heart of Wales. Step into nature and enjoy your holiday break with plenty of family fun and adventures in the sun here in Neath Port Talbot!
To kick things off on 22nd – 23rd July, we have Neath’s Real Ale and Cider Festival at Neath Town Hall with live music, a bar, and a delicious pulled pork stall (Saturday only).
Don’t miss out on the following day with a Superhero Summer Spectacular at Margam Country Park on 24th July. Featuring a selection of costumed characters inspired by your favourite superheroes, enjoy this funny musical show full of surprises for the whole family. Margam Country Park will also host ‘A Mad Hatters Bubble Party’ on 26th July, where you can dive down the rabbit hole and join the Mad Hatter in his musical magical trike around the Orangery Garden. Enjoy games, quizzes, and prizes of giant bubble displays! We’re all mad here…
Want to find fresh and local produce for your getaway break? Look no further than NPTCBC Pontardawe Farmers Market on Herbert Street 29th July, bringing 20 food production stalls and 3 hot food stalls. The perfect stopping point for that quick bite to eat.
Bring out your competitive side with The Big Cycle, on the 14th August, for the leading prostate health charity in Wales, Prostate Cymru. Cycle through the breath-taking scenery of South Wales right here in the Dramatic Heart of Wales, and all for a good cause. Then, tune in for a chilled Night at the Movies with Adventure Cinema bringing outdoor film screenings to life – these include the classic romcom Pretty Woman on 20th August, and family-favourite The Lion King on the 21st August.
End the month with a Dino-mite Jurassic Dinosaur Spectacular on the 29th August with ‘The Dinosaur that came to Tea’ on Margam Country Park Castle lawns. Join in the fun with a Dinosaur’s birthday including silly slapstick cake-making, crazy dinosaur songs and party games. The perfect family Dino Day Out!
