Bethel Chapel Cafe

Bethel Chapel cafe is a family-owned and run cafe, based in a Grade ll-listed, converted Welsh Baptist chapel, in Oakwood, Pontrhydyfen

They have been  trading since 2023 and have built up a solid reputation amongst locals and tourists alike for good value snacks, sweets and treats (try their Carrot cake, Victoria Sponge or home-made brownies) as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks, all served in unique surroundings.

Husband and wife team,  Peter and Jackie Bowen (the owner/proprietors) purchased the chapel in 2013 and set about restoring and converting it for business use, soon after.

The cafe is at the end of the famous Aqueduct (Y Bont Fawr) in Pontrhydyfen, in the Afan Valley and is open seasonally (March – November) and its’ opening hours are 10 til 5, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The area is a gateway into the Afan Forest park, and is uniquely located within a stone’s throw of fantastic hiking, biking and dog-walking trails
