Craig Gwladus Woods Country Park

Situated on a wooded hillside offering spectacular views of the lower Neath Valley, Craig Gwladus Woods Country Park is a must see for those who enjoy walking and nature spotting.

The park offers a range of walking trails, including The Drift Mine Trail, which follows the old dramways of the Gelliau and Graig Cilfrew collieries and winds through a variety of historical mining features. Another popular trail is The Family Trail, a circular route that passes fairy doors, waterfalls, and leafy tunnels. There’s also a picnic area to stop and enjoy a packed lunch.

The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including heritage-based craft workshops and community coffee mornings.

You will find the entrance to Craig Gwladus in Pensynnor in Cilfrew, just off the A465. There are three car parks to choose from and parking is free of charge.
