Gnoll Country Park

Set within a dramatic landscape of lakes, cascades, woodland and open parkland, Gnoll Country Park is a historic estate reimagined for modern-day exploration. Once owned by the wealthy Mackworth family, the original mansion has long since been demolished, leaving behind a collection of picturesque ruins.

The fully accessible two-storey Visitor Centre is home to a modern café serving a wide range of locally sourced food and drinks. Its south-facing balcony overlooks the lake, making it a scenic spot for a relaxed catch-up with friends, informal meeting, or a quiet moment immersed in nature.

Gnoll Country Park is a destination for play and adventure, with three purpose-built playgrounds designed to suit all ages and accessibility needs. Next to the Visitor Centre, the Toddler and Accessible Playground has been designed to be inclusive. The Adventure Playground offers high-energy fun with various exciting features including Gnoll Towers. The Natural Playground uses sustainable materials to encourage imaginative outdoor play.

For indoor fun, Treetops Soft Play adds another layer of family friendly activity, with sensory play zones, climbing challenges and a dual-run slide. Meanwhile, the Tree of Many Faces storytelling path invites visitors to follow the Wood Spirit through carved woodland creatures hidden along the path, ending at Gnoll Throne, a storytelling seat where the rich history and tales of the park come to life.

From March 2026, visitors can also stay overnight at Pond Cottage, a beautifully finished holiday cottage sleeping up to six people, nestled beside Gnoll Fishpond.
