National Trust Aberdulais Tin Works and Waterfall

Aberdulais Falls is a striking natural landmark set within the historic Aberdulais Tin Works, a site where water‑powered industry has been at the heart of local life for more than 400 years. The picturesque waterfall lies at the centre of this former tinplate works, where hydro power has been harnessed since 1584 to drive a range of industries including copper, textiles and grain. The tradition continues today, with the large waterwheel still generating enough electricity to power the site.

Although visitors now experience a calm, scenic setting, Aberdulais was once a place of intense heat, noise and activity during the height of tinplate production. Walking through the site reveals the waterfall, the waterwheel, the Turbine House, and interpretation that brings its industrial past to life.

The attraction is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The site is designed to be accessible, offering level routes, accessible toilets and Blue Badge spaces. Parking is available right at the entrance, making visits convenient for all.
