Places to Visit This Summer

Explore the ‘great outdoors’ this summer and make the most of our collection of stunning natural landscapes. With mountains and valleys to explore and a relaxed atmosphere in our central south Wales location, you can reconnect with nature and make memories to last.

We are spoiled for choice when it comes to parkland. The Dramatic Heart of Wales is home to Margam Country Park and Craig Gwladys Country Park, the perfect places to visit for a varied family day out. Both steeped in history and with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore, a summer-time visit to these parks is a must on every staycation agenda.

We would encourage you to delve into our rich history while visiting Neath Port Talbot. From our monastic beginnings through to our living industry, there is much to discover about how our history has shaped the landscape you will visit today. Take a stroll around the ruins of Neath Abbey or visit Margam Abbey and the Stones Museum and discover ancient relics.

Many will know that our area thrived in the industrial revolution when mining was a key industry. The South Wales Miners Museum depicts this era and gives visitors the chance to learn more about this dangerous and difficult work.
