Places To Visit

Our mountains and valleys, rivers and coastline provide the natural backdrop for a range of activities. But that’s not the only way visitors to Neath Port Talbot can immerse themselves in our dramatic landscape.

Our country parks offer a combination of open spaces, splendid landscapes, nature, wildlife, heritage and a wide range of activities and facilities to create a great day out. And this little corner of Britain has the highest concentration of waterfalls, caves and gorges anywhere in the country, earning us the title ‘Waterfall Country’.

Many of our museums and heritage sites retell the story of our proud industrial past. They reveal how nature played a key role in making this region one of the most significant industrialised areas in Britain, if not the world, during the 19th and 20th centuries. And tell an honest account of what life was like for the people living and working here during this era.

The region became a world centre again, briefly, in December 2018, although for an entirely different reason this time. It was thanks to our newest attraction, Banksy’s ‘Season’s Greetings’, which appeared overnight on a Taibach garage.
