things to do this WINTER

There are plenty of adventures to be had in the Winter months in the Dramatic Heart of Wales.

Ours is a land of contrasts, and your visit can be just that; rest by the local pub’s glowing fireside before wrapping up warm for a frosty beach stroll, and enjoy all that our landscape can offer even as winter sets in.

Aberavon Seafront remains beautiful under frosty skies, with its 3-miles of sandy beach drawing out residents and visitors alike for a refreshing stroll. Dogs are welcome on Aberavon beach throughout the winter months, so you can enjoy an all-weather adventure with four-legged friends.

Looking for a more relaxing trip? Come inland and head west from Aberavon Beach, and you’ll find yourself on the doorstep of Towers Hotel and Spa in Jersey Marine. With a range of luxurious treatments and good quality  dining, you can relax and restore on a long winter’s night.

Eagle-eyed cinema fans may also recognise the Dramatic Heart of Wales’s iconic landscape from many film backdrops. Our Film Set Trail lets you walk in the footsteps of cult-classic actors and fan favourite characters. Be transported to the mystical world of His Dark Materials at Margam Country Park, hear the echo of Richard Burton’s melodic poetry near Pontrhydyfen Aqueduct Bridge, and re-enact your favourite Twin Town scenes across Port Talbot.
