When you choose to plan your staycation in the Dramatic Heart of Wales, you’re choosing an area of the world unlike any other.
With high-reaching mountains, winding canals, cascading waterfalls, historic sites, bustling town centres, and a sandy stretch of beach, Neath Port Talbot promises adventure everywhere you look.
Whether you prefer camping or caravaning, bed & breakfasts or bunkhouses, our area is the perfect base to explore our entire region.
Here are some of our favourite handpicked staycation spots:
Bryn Bettws Lodge
Located in the beautiful Afan Forest, Bryn Bettws Lodge has four log cabins on site that sleep five people per cabin. There is also the Bunkhouse which sleeps 18 people, and there are nine rooms in the main lodge which sleep 2-6 people per room.
Bryn Bettws Lodge is dog friendly, and it’s fantastic for guests who love the outdoors, with numerous walking and mountain bike trails just a stone’s throw away. One of these trails is the Richard Burton Birthplace trail, which takes you through the quaint town of Pontrhydyfen. As this year marks the centenary of Burton’s birth, honouring his legacy by taking a stroll along this scenic trail would be a lovely way to spend part of your day!
